Karoonda Tourist Park - Terms and Conditions of Stay

As a guest of the Karoonda Tourist Park, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Arrival & Departure

  • Check-in: 2:00pm for both powered sites and cabins.
  • Check-out: 10:00am for both powered sites and cabins.


Changes & Cancellations

  • Cancellations more than 14 days prior: Full refund.
  • Cancellations within 14 days of reservation: Charged one night’s tariff.
  • Cancellations within 48 hours of reservation: No refund.


Maximum Stay Length
 

At Karoonda Tourist Park guests are prohibited from using any accommodation within the park as their principal place of residence. All accommodation on offer is only to be used for genuine short term stays (typically holidays and business travel).
 
By accepting a booking, guests confirm that they do not and will not (subject to a written agreement to the contrary), use the property as their principal place of residence. At Karoonda Tourist Park we do not accept bookings for stays of more than 30 consecutive nights and have a condition that after 30 nights guests must depart the property for a period of 14 days prior to being able to return.
 
Please note guests can spend a maximum of 180 nights at Karoonda Tourist Park over the course of the financial year.
 
If you are staying in the community for work purposes, additional nights beyond the 30 consecutive night maximum may be considered. Such requests must be submitted in writing (via email) to council@dckem.sa.gov.au for prior approval.

Extra Cleaning Charges

  • Cleaning Fee: $50.00 per hour if the cabin is left in an unreasonable condition.
  • Departure Requirements: Ensure all dishes are washed and put away.

Smoking

  • No Smoking Zones: Inside cabins, camp kitchen area, and amenities block.
  • Fee for Smoking in Cabins: Minimum $250.

Lost Property

  • Karoonda Tourist Park takes no responsibility for any lost/stolen items from accommodation or vehicles
  • Any perishables or toiletries that are found in accommodation opened/used will be discarded immediately
  • Non-perishable lost property is held for a maximum 28 days, after which the property is offered to charity or otherwise disposed of 
  • Lost property is kept at the District Council of Karoonda East Murray, located at 11 Railway Terrace, Karoonda 

Vehicles

  • Speed Limit: 5km/h (walking pace).
  • Vehicle Entry: Only registered vehicles allowed.
  • Parking: Two vehicles per cabin, one vehicle per site.

Visitors

  • Responsibility: Visitors must adhere to park rules and vacate by 10:00pm.
  • Parking: Visitors must use the visitor car park (front of park).
  • Facilities: Shower facilities are not available for visitors.


Servicing

Cabins will be serviced weekly, with the first service commencing after the 7th night of stay. This service only applies to stays of more than 7 nights.

The amenities block for powered sites is cleaned daily to ensure a comfortable experience for guests. 

Pets

  • Allowed: Pets are permitted on powered sites.
  • Rules:
    • Must be restrained at all times within the vicinity of your allocated site.
    • Owners must clean up after pets; pet waste bags are provided near the amenities block.
    • Pets must be kept quiet to consider other guests.
    • No Pets in Cabins: Exceptions apply to guide dogs. Breach incurs a $250 cleaning/deodorising fee.

Code of Conduct

  • Behaviour: Respectful behaviour is required at all times.
  • Prohibited Behaviour: Foul language, illegal drug use, and anti-social behaviour will result in eviction from the park.
  • Noise Restrictions: No loud noise between 10:00pm and 8:00am. Excessive noise and rowdy parties are not tolerated and will result in eviction from the park.

Additional Terms

  • Booking Policy:
    • Full payment is required at the time of booking.
    • No refunds or credits for early departures once checked-in.
    • Cancellation & refund requests must be emailed to discover@karoonda.com
       
  • Damages/Loss: Guests are liable for any damage to park property.

     
  • Payment: Accepted by Visa, Mastercard, EFTPOS or via cash taken in person at the Karoonda Council Office.

     
  • Minimum Booking Periods: May apply during school holidays, weekends, long weekends, and special events.

     
  • Personal Belongings: The park takes no responsibility for the loss or damage of personal items. Lock accommodation and vehicles when not occupied.
